Getting to the University of Glasgow
The University of Glasgow is situated in the West End of the city, and is easily accessible by various transport links.
By subway
The Glasgow subway is often the most convenient way to reach the University. The closest station to the University of Glasgow is Hillhead. A single ticket costs £1.70 and can be bought at any subway station. See the SPT website for information on timetables and stops.

By bus
First Bus run the bus service in Glasgow. The number 4 goes to University Avenue; other buses will also take you to the West End. Information about tickets and routes can be found on the First Bus website.
By train
Trains run from across the UK to Glasgow Central station and Glasgow Queen Street station. If you are arriving at Glasgow Central, the nearest subway station is St Enoch’s. If you are arriving at Glasgow Queen Street, the nearest subway station is Buchanan Street.
By plane
If arriving at Glasgow Airport, shuttle buses run regularly to Buchanan Street Bus Station. A single ticket costs £8; a return is £12. See the Glasgow Airport website for more information. From the bus station, Buchanan Street subway station is approximately a ten minute walk away. Buses to the West End also depart from the bus station (e.g. First Bus number 4).
Alternatively, you can get a taxi from outside Glasgow Airport. A taxi to the University of Glasgow from the airport will cost approximately £25. Two possibilities for taxi services are West End Radio Cars (0141 954 2000) who provide a flat-rate service between the airport and addresses in the West End, and Glasgow Taxis (0141 429 7070).
If arriving at Prestwick Airport, trains run regularly to Glasgow Central station and take around 45 minutes. See the Prestwick Airport website for more information.

Halls
The University offers accommodation in its halls of residence for conference attendees, with rooms ranging from £28 to £50 per night. These rooms can be booked directly from the University website.
