Janet: From the days he did his national service so then we kept up with them for a long time after, it was really nice.
Interviewer: It would be.
Janet: Really was, it was good. But I like Spain. I went so often there that I-- I learnt a bit of the Spanish language, you know, at night classes.
Interviewer: Mhm.
Janet: And my wee grandson, he was just about seven then and they would come with us on some of the holidays, uh, my daughter and her husband and their two kids and, eh, he would say "what does that-- what means that Granny, in Spanish?" and I would tell him the word and then he would sit up at the bar stool and he'd say "la cuenta, por favour" wi no teeth. The teeth were coming in, you know, the second teeth. "La cuenta". It was really quite funny.
